  • Name two ways, other than by feeding information, in which an interpreter can enhance the team’s work during the interpretation. You can talk about different approaches and controls you would use throughout the assignment.
  • What are two issues that interpreters may quickly talk over during their actual interpreting work? I think that interpreters talk about their weakness and their certification too much.

Discuss why you use this strategy more.  I use the collaborate more. this  is more what is happening during the interpretation. How I can work with the certain interpreter. Talk about specific issues that possibly might show up.
  • Identify which of these teaming strategies you use less often. Discuss whether or not you should use this strategy more often. Spain. I use the switching rolled less often when discussing. When to switch when an interpreter doesn’t understand This is also very confusing for them to hear two different voices. I like the idea and didn’t really learn a lot of it till this chapter.

Further exploring teaming strategies

 

  • Explain in your own word the difference between information fees and other teaming strategies and explain how this distinction can be helpful to an interpreting team. Providing affirmations and making adjustments to the room. Making sure the lights are fixed. I feel that this is not told in the information feeds. The little details of the environment. Even the book said taking notes.
  • Some of the respondents to the survey stated that some strategies can be the user too often. which strategy can be overuse? Corrections. I think We need to sit back and realize ASL can be translated in many different ways. As long as it still accurate then you are okay.
  • Are there any of these strategies that you feel the field, in general, does not use enough? Confirmation. I think head nodding through the moderating is so important. Then the interpreter in the seat knows what happening and is aware that the interpretation is correct.
  • Are there any of these strategies that you plan to sure use more in your own teaming work, or less in your own teaming work. The moral support I feel that interpreters do provide that boost in ego. We need to understand that we are being successful as a team and that we need to thank your team member and give them positive feedback.
  • Discuss your personal reaction to the section “a few word on moral support” can offer moral support be helpful to the team? Can it be detrimental to the team? I think it’s great to give expressions such as “You did a great job” To help the interpreter to feel better. This helps confirmation and provide that they are doing a successful job. Having moral support represents an effort to boost a person’s ego.
